2007 Mine Rescue Pictures

Mine rescue contests play a crucial role in keeping Kentucky's mine rescue teams ready for an emergency. 

Western Kentucky Mining Institute   May 24, 2007

2007 WKMI Bluegrass Mine
Bluegrass Mine's rescue team fared extremely well in the latest contest held on May 24, 2007 in Western Kentucky.  They took 2nd place overall and 1st in the state.  OMSL Executive Director Johnny Greene (left) presented the award to Captain David Self.

Warrior Coal Company mine rescue team
Warrior Coal Company's team garnered 1st place in the Combination Mine Rescue First Aid, 1st place in First Aid and 3rd place in Mine Rescue.
