• An emergency toll-free number was established to ensure prompt reporting of accidents:   1-877-MINE-911.
  
• New Training Requirements have been put in place.
  
• The Mine Equipment Review Panel researched mine safety equipment and issued their report. Their work is on-going.
  
• Proposed Regulations for OMSL Certified Drug-Free Workplace Program establish the criteria companies need to meet.
  
• Violations of Drug or Alcohol Free Status Reporting ensures that impaired miners do not jeopardize the safety of others.
